3 Beauty Products to Beat the Heat

I don't know about where you live, but it has been HOTTTT here in Michigan for a while now. We shot this look when it was in the 90's and I was thrilled that this was one of my looks because this romper is so light weight and comfortable in the heat. It's breathable without being flimsy and versatile enough you can go from the pool to dinner with your hubby- or at least that's what I did this day! As I got the images to post, I started to be quite relieved that I was wearing this romper because who takes blog outfits in this kind of heat?! Hence, why I had to keep my car running at all times and both my photographer (sorry, Olivia) and I had to duck in from time to time to cool off. So let's talk about this heat and beauty products...

As much as I love the heat it can really take a toll on your beauty routine and planning for the days activities. From foundation breaking up to sticky lotions, it can be hard to even be running errands in this heat let alone have a patio dinner when you don't feel your best. Today I'm sharing my 3 favorite beauty products to beat the heat! What are yours?

1. Tom's of Maine Deodorant: I switched over to Natural deodorant last year and I don't think I can ever go back. I have been using this one for the whole year, but am really interested in finding others that I like just as much. My husband was like "ew, natural deodorant," but I truly believe that when you find the right deodorant for your body, you regulate your sweat. I know this is going to sound TMI, but there are some days now where I don't even have to use deodorant at all. Even in this heat and with working out, I rarely feel like I sweat to the point where I have to apply more in the morning or even re-apply throughout the day.

2. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer: As you all probably know, I have been dealing with horrible hormonal acne. It has been the absolute worst, especially in the summer when I usually would let my skin go bare more times than not. I have never been a big makeup person, but now that I am constantly having to cover things up to even leave the house, I was on the hunt for something light weight that I could use but not have to cake on. My dermatologist actually recommended a tinted moisturizer because they are light and typically have SPF in them. I really love this Laura Mercier product because it gives me the little bit of coverage that I want when I'm not doing a whole face of makeup and it double as my SPF for the day.

3. La Roche-Posay Sunscreen: Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen. My dermatologist recommended this sunscreen because I was so worried about putting more product on my face with all the breaking out that has been happening to me. This product is supposed to be very gentle on your face and good for acne-prone skin. Funny story, the first nice day of the summer season I was out on my back porch tanning. I thought for sure that getting tan on my face would clear my skin up automatically. Well, I was WRONG. I have always been obsessed with being tan so of course this summer was no different for me until I went to the dermatologist one day and the first thing that they said when they walked in the room was "YOUR FACE IS TAN, WHY?" I was honestly so confused because I always thought that the sun clears up acne and scaring, but it actually does the exact opposite. The sun makes your face really inflamed when tanning, which then makes your acne 10x worse. Sun is also really bad for scaring. It can make the scaring permanent as apposed to fading it. Needless to say, I have been covering my face ever since that dermatologist visit but still tanning my body, but of course using sunscreen. Find a good sunscreen that works for you and incorporate it into your daily skincare routine. It's one extra step, but honestly the most important one.

So as I go about another warm day here in Michigan, I must know, what beauty products do you use to beat the heat?

xx, Paige
